Our Founder’s Story
Snehal Massey founded SPM Law to transform the family law experience—making it more personal and less coldly transactional. Law is her second career, driven by a passion to evolve family law into a warmer, more supportive practice.
Her philosophy crystallized during her clerkship with the Hon. Ronald A. Silkworth (Ret.) on the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court. Observing countless cases, she witnessed firsthand how attorneys can either help or hinder their clients’ outcomes. She left determined to be exclusively a client-centered advocate.
Since then, Snehal has dedicated her career to family law, working at two prominent Baltimore-area firms before founding SPM Law. She formed SPM Law to practice in a way that felt authentic to her values—even if it meant taking an unconventional approach to traditional legal practice. This decision allowed her to prioritize genuine relationships over billable hours and to create the warm, supportive environment she knew families needed during their most vulnerable moments
Her achievements include:
- Helping over 200 clients across seven Maryland counties since launching her own practice
- Arguing before Maryland’s Court of Special Appeals, resulting in a published opinion (2019)
- Serving as Maryland’s Best Interest Attorney, Child Privilege Attorney, and Child Advocate Attorney
- Recognition in Super Lawyers Rising Stars consecutively since 2020
Beyond the Courtroom
Snehal’s commitment extends throughout her community. She leads initiatives with the Asian Pacific American Bar Association (Judicial Selections Committee Chair), Anne Arundel County Bar Association, Baltimore County Bar Association, Maryland Association for Justice, and South Asian Bar Association of Washington D.C. She also serves on the board of Christalis, supporting underserved children and families worldwide.
